Yelyzaveta Monastyrova
Yelyzaveta Monastyrova is a PhD candidate (2022-2025) at the Law School of the Open University. Her dissertation focuses on the inclusion of exploitation of citizens into the anti-trafficking regimes in Spain, Ukraine and the UK, and the relationship between victimhood and citizenship. Yelyzaveta holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree in South European Studies from the University of Glasgow, Autonomous University of Madrid and LUISS Guido Carli, and a BA in International Relations from the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University.
Dr Blerim Mustafa
Dr Blerim Mustafa, a Norwegian national of Albanian ethnic origin, serves as the Head of Unit at the Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC), an international, inter-governmental organisation established by countries of the Global South. Dr Mustafa holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and Politics from the University of Leicester (UK) and has completed his graduate and under-graduate studies in Switzerland and Norway. He has over 10 years of experience in the development and non-profit sectors focused on human rights, religious diplomacy, education and diplomatic protocol and etiquette. He has operated in more than 20 countries across different world continents, having engaged in policy change and advocacy initiatives through a variety of mechanisms and institutional settings. Dr. Mustafa regularly contributes with authored articles and op-eds – his contributions have been cited in more than 10 countries. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football and travelling as well as improving his culinary skills.
Mariam Begadze
Mariam Begadze is a doctoral candidate in Comparative Constitutional Law at the Legal Studies Department of Central European University (CEU) working under the supervision of Prof. András Sajó. Her doctoral project is a comparative study of health rights jurisprudence considering its implications for the Separation of Powers theory and doctrine in India, South Africa, and Colombia. Parallel to her academic career, she has been an invited expert for projects funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia and the Open Society Georgia Foundation. Before joining CEU as a doctoral student, she had successfully litigated before the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Georgia. Most recent publications deal with the illiberal playbook deployed against opposition-led local governments (published in the Hague Journal on the Rule of Law) and judicial review over pretextual rulemaking (to be published as a Chapter in the forthcoming Edward Elgar Handbook on Politics of Constitutional Law).
