THE GLOBAL SOUTH NETWORK INTERNATIONAL INTERDISCIPLINARY PHD IN PROGRESS WEEKLY SEMINAR SERIES PHASE IV (JAN-DECEMBER 2025)
The Global South Network International Interdisciplinary PhD in Progress Weekly Seminar Series (Phase IV: January–December 2025) serves as a critical platform for emerging scholars from the Global South to advance interdisciplinary research, foster academic collaboration, and bridge knowledge gaps across regions. Its primary importance lies in democratizing academic discourse by centering underrepresented voices, promoting South-South intellectual exchange, and addressing globally relevant but locally grounded research questions. The aims include (1) enhancing research quality through peer feedback and mentorship, (2) cultivating transnational academic networks, and (3) strengthening interdisciplinary methodologies to tackle complex societal challenges.
Key objectives are to provide structured weekly forums for workshopping dissertations, facilitate collaborations between early-career researchers and senior scholars, and produce actionable knowledge that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. By integrating diverse disciplinary perspectives—from humanities to STEM—the series empowers participants to refine their scholarly contributions while fostering equity in global knowledge production.
